They longed for the taste of African, the vibrant flavors of African cuisine, and the joy of community gatherings around food. They often found themselves asking the question, “what do we eat now?” as they struggled to find the ingredients they needed to recreate the taste of home in their new country.
Driven by our love and passion for their people, We decided to take matters into our own hands. In 2024, we took a leap of faith and founded Welland African Store, at the moment, a fully online one stop grocery store and items that would become a beacon of hope for the African and Nigerian community in their new home of Canada.
